Private by default
Every new fam starts closed. Anyone new waits at the door until someone inside lets them in.
HowClosed is the database's default for a new fam, so it holds on every version of the app.
No audience
No public profiles, no follower counts, no directory to browse. A moment is for its fam, and nobody else.
HowThe database hands a post only to members of its fam, checked on every request with Postgres row-level security.
Private links
Photos and videos sit in private storage. The app opens each one through a signed link that stops working after an hour.
HowEach link is signed for 3,600 seconds, and the app asks for a fresh one ten minutes before it runs out.
Contacts stay yours
Find friends without uploading your address book. Each number becomes a code on your phone before anything leaves it.
HowNumbers are hashed with SHA-256 on the phone. The server compares hashes and never receives a number. Say no, and nothing is sent.
Report and block
Report any post or note, and a person reviews it within 24 hours. Block someone, and their posts and notes are gone from your feed, your notes and your widget.
HowReports are write-only: nobody in the app can read them back. A block sends no notice to the person blocked.
