Email support@fam.day. We reply within two business days. Reports of abusive content are actioned within 24 hours.

Getting in

Joining a fam

A fam is private. You get in one of two ways: someone sends you an invite link, or you ask the founder of a fam you know about and they approve you. There is no public directory to browse, by design.

Signing in

Enter your phone number and we text you a six-digit code. There is no password to forget. You can also use Sign in with Apple.

If the code does not arrive, check that the number is right including the country code, then try again after a minute. Still nothing? Email us.

Safety

Reporting a post or a note

Open the ••• menu on any post or the reaction shelf on any note, then choose Report. Tell us nothing else; we get the post and act on it. Reports are private, and the person you reported is never told who reported them.

Blocking someone

Same menu, choose Block. Their posts and notes disappear from your feed, your conversations, and your widget, and they stop being able to notify you. They are not told. To undo it, open Settings, then Safety, then Blocked.

We have no tolerance for abusive behavior. We review every report and remove content and members where it is warranted.

Your data

Exporting everything you posted

Settings, then Export your data. Fam builds a zip of your posts and the media in them. A large archive takes a while and re-downloads your media, so use Wi-Fi.

Deleting your account

Profile, then Edit profile, then Danger Zone, then Delete account. You confirm by typing your account name, and it is permanent: your profile, posts, notes, reactions and uploaded media are removed. Fams you founded stay with the people still in them.

Contacts

If you let Fam look for people you know, your contacts' phone numbers are scrambled on your phone before anything leaves it. We match the scrambled codes and never see the numbers. Turn it down and nothing is sent at all.

Notifications

Fam notifies you when your fam posts, reacts, or writes a note. Turn them off entirely in the iOS Settings app under Fam, or from Settings inside the app.
